Did that post grab your attention? We have been trying to come up with something to blog about for two month and this is it! With all the jet setting we did this summer we've been hard pressed to actually work. Today is Tuesday and we are working. While discussing belt buckle names we started wondering were the term seersucker came from.
The definition is...a light fabric of linen, cotton, or rayon usually striped and slightly puckered. Originally worn by the poor in the US, but in the 20's preppy college students adopted the fabric for their own. The word seersucker itself is derived from the Persian words shir-o-shekar, meaning milk and sugar. Sounds sticky to me!
